iBooks is slow when highlighting

Hi,

I like a lot to use ibooks to read books and I like to highlight them so that I have importanti things always available on my devices too.

The problem here is that ibooks has started to go slow and each word of phrase I will highlight takes about 13 seconds: the same happens to remove highlight or to write a note.

The problem happens on books that I have already highlighted on many pages, for exemple I am now on page 387 of about 1000 pages.

I have tried to start read a new book and there all goes fast: highligh is immediately visible, no lag at all.

Does anybody know why this happens and how to fix?

same here ibooks on mavericks 10.9.1 very slow whenn a book has mulitple highlights. it cant be my computer coz all other readers work fine e.g kindle app has just as much in highlited books and is still swift .has a solution been found?

I have just updated to 10.9.2 and the problem with iBooks is still there :-(

That makes the application quite unusable in my opionion.

I have the same issue. With new, unhighlighted books, the highlighting takes effect immediately. I am 80% through a 500 page book which has progressively been highlighted and with each additional attempt, the highlighting takes forever. Apple fix this, please!!!

Same issue here. And now with no way to export to another app, the book I'm reading has become almost unusable due to the load times. This is unacceptable. Never buying a book on iBooks ever again.

iBooks is way to slow when marking text. CPU usage goes up to 100% (one core only). Even on my old iPad 2 marking text in the same book is faster. This needs to be fixed asap, please!
