Q: How do I mirror a DVD using Apple's program DVD Player on to my Apple TV? The DVD Player window goes gray on each screen (TV screen and MacBook Pro screen).

I have the same problem with my 2012 macbook pro. HDMI did not work.

Ok, here's what I did to Airplay DVDs... I gave up trying to use Apple's DVD program. I'm using VLC 2.1.1 (Version 2.1.2 has a bug and won't play dvds). Now I can watch dvds without any problems. Now, if you use dvds from other countries, you might have to flash your DVD drive.

How do you get the older versioN?  When I go to VLC,  it only shows 2.1.3.

I haven't tried version 2.1.3 yet... the buggy one was 2.1.2

Yes, it is still buggy.  I put on 2.1.1 and I'm all good.

I down loaded the VLC Player 2.1.1. and  it works perfectly with airplay and mirroring. Thanks.
