    Hi,

The basic premise is that on one machine you have a Pages app that produces newer versions of documents. On the Mac you are using an older version of Pages. To fix this problem you have two options:

    1. Upgrade to a newer version of Pages on the Mac running Mavericks
    2. Save or Export your documents (on the other device) to an older version of Pages, to a Word file, or to a Text file

This should allow you to open documents on both systems. With option #2 you will lose some style information from the document if you save it as Word/Text/older Pages. Option #1 costs $19.99 (USD) in the Mac App Store.

You have two versions of Pages on your Mac and are alternating between them when you create files.

Pages 5 is in your Applications folder and converts Pages '09 files, often badly.

Pages '09 is in your Applications/iWork folder and will not open Pages 5 files at all.

Check out the forum for the differences. Apple has removed over 90+ features from Pages 5 and many other features don't work or work badly:

I seem to understand what you are saying.  Thanks.  Will try it because my forms for pages, numbers and keynote are all messed up.   Thanks again.  One other question...if I should decide to upgrade pages will it upgrade iWork and include numbers and keynote or does each one call for a $19.95 fee?  Will it be all inclusive?

If you owned the iWork Apps previously the latest Mavericks versions should be free from the App Store.
