i am trying to dowload some free apss but i keepbeing asked for bank details.why is this as the apps are free

BUT YOU CANNOT GET PAST THE CARD INFORMATION SCREEN WHEN SETTING UP A NEW ACCOUNT
IT JUST KEEPS ASKING FOR PAYMENT INFORMATION AND THERE IS NO BOX TO SELECT NONE
I got the same problem, i just cant get to the part where i can simply download a free app. Its a time wasting problem and since i didnt need to do this nonsense on any other none apple product ill just switch back to that and leave the tablets and phones to rot away forgotten in a basement.
I have tried this and selected none in the payment method but i am still asking for card details which i do nt want to give and i am very tempted to put both my ipad and iphone on ebay
You do not get billed for free apps...but if you are concerned you can setup your account with NONE selected as the billing status: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4484
Follow the steps in this article exactly as written: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534. You must select and tap Install on any free app at step 3 before creating the ID.

i have also tried creating a new itunes acc but again i am asked for bank details without the option to select none
To create a new account without billing info, you have to follow the instructions given, setup the account, then select a free app to download...when it asks for the billing information select none.
i HAVE FOLLOWED ALLTHE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER AND IT DOES NOT WORK .I HAVE JUST ABOUT HAD ENOUGH OF THIS THE I PAD IS GOING ON EBAY TOMORROW. APPLE HAVE REALLY LET THEMSELVES DOWN WITH THIS

I Agree it is time wasting. We are told not to give bank details out easily but Apple want it for free apps not on. Bad show
So resently I've purchesed something on an app with my banking info but now I can't get messenger and or get any apps and can't even press none anymore could somebody please help thank you!
