I got Mavericks and now clicking my mouse doesn't work in many apple programs, is there anything I can do to fix this, and is Apple working on a fix for it?

Clicking buttons doesn't work in calendar, preview, or updates, and it also doesn't work in fullscreen videos viewed on youtube. Right click seems to work like a left click, but not for everything. Clicking the mouse works in other programs.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

1. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405

2. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

Choose the method for:

"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".

I tried both of those, and unfortunately neither worked.
