I have forgotten my restrictions pass code so need to restore the device. However when I attempt to erase all content it asks for the restrictions pass code which I obviously don't know? How do I do this without using iTunes?

You cannot remove restriction passcode without a computer.
That does not help. How do you restore a device without using itunes?
You can't unless you use iTunes. The answer was correct.
