I want to give my friends a message with my ipod an i cant bc i dont know what my number is i have the 5th generation ipod touch and my imessage is not telling me what my number is where do i find it on my ipod??

If you have not got an iPhone, your iMessage number is an email address.
To check what your iMessage address is, open Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, and look for the ticked email address or phone number. That's your iMessage email address or phone number that other users can use to contact with you

An iPod will only have a phone number if there is an iPhone with iOS 6 or later using the same Apple ID for Messages.
