WHAT IS ERROR 3004 ?

WHAT IS ERROR 3004 ? Trtying to set up a new ipad ,but it is giving me some lame excuse or something !

It's either a communications issue between your computer and the Apple servers or you are trying to restore a version of iOS your device is not eligible for - perhaps trying to downgrade to a previous version?


This is taken directly from the Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors page.


Resolve communication issues


Check the hosts file or TCP/IP filtering, which might cause communication issues between iTunes, ports, and servers.


Common errors: 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194, or 3000-3999. These alerts refer to gs.apple.com, say "There was a problem downloading the software", or say the "device isn't eligible for the requested build".


You can read more on the page I linked to. Just FYI, error codes are not some "lame excuse". They're designed to help you figure out why something isn't working. Google will usually get you where you need to go. For example, a search for "iTunes error code 3004" take you right to the page I linked to in this post. If that's not helpful, a forum like this will be.
