Q: trash bin emptying seems to have halted?

for nearly a week, I just get "You can't open the Trash because it's being emptied." not much to go on!

Thank you, it was checked! So, I unchecked it and did the "empty Trash".

Can I assume that it is still subject to a log jam? anyway, it is still giving me the same "You can't open the Trash because....". but I will carry on looking at it during the course of the day.

Well that is the odd thing, it will not open to show me, just the statement " You can’t open the Trash because it’s being emptied." Is there another way of viewing it's contents?

Unless I am missunderstanding you, this seems to give me what I had "you can't open the Trash etc". I cannot see an opportunity to look at the contents, Senior moment?

Log out was tried yesterday, and it was said that FINDER could not proceed without having the process cancelled!

I am going to log out again!

Ok, This time it says, FINDER cannot log out  still operating, but, "You can cancel or stop the operations, and then try again." Except that I can't?

Sorry, to be more precise, log out attempt say's "The Finder can’t quit because some operations are still in progress."
