I lost my iPhone 4 and was not updated to iOS 7 and the thief set his own iTunes password . I got the phone with the help of the local police. How do I reset the phone with no iTunes password?

Please help

You should have had the passcode lock enabled on your iPhone to prevent this.

Restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer. If you were syncing your iPhone with iTunes on your computer regularly as designed and intended, you can restore from the most recent backup for your iPhone - the most recent backup prior to the iPhone being lost or stolen.

When prompted to update the backup for your iPhone after selecting Restore, decline the prompt.
