How does the HG533 authenticate?

Is this using the BT fibre modem.. or is the fibre plugged straight into the HG533?? If the later it cannot be replaced.. the TC is not a modem.. you cannot replace a modem with a router. So it is only if the HG533 is not really a modem at all .. just a router.

The other aspect is do TalkTalk give you login info.. if you use pppoe .. I know other UK ISP do not provide login details and you are forced to use their supplied modem/routers.

Have you rung TalkTalk and got info from them on how to replace their router??
