How do I select multiple items?

There are different ways to do what you want:

• Hold the Command key and press the items you want to select.
• Press Command and A keys to select all items in a folder.

You can do the same with the mouse or trackpad by clicking in one part of the window and dragging it until all the items you want are highlighted

And, another quick way if you're looking at a Finder window in list or column view:

highlight the first item

Press Shift key and highlight the last item

All items in between the two will be highlighted.
