Edit Pages & Keynotes alternatively on mac & ipad

Hello.

Since I've upgraded my ipad Pages to ios7, my Mac can't read transferred files (pages 09 v 4.1). Can't upgrade to Pages 5.0.1 cause I need OSX Mavericks. Can't upgrade to Mavericks for I have an Intel core duo 1.83Ghz. Do you guys mean that if I want to edit a document on both devices, I have to buy a brand new Mac?

I hope there is an alternative solution, or it would be the most expensive 4 pages document ever...

Same issue with Keynote...

Try using the iwork web apps that you can access via browser when you log into icloud.com

Thank You Tom, it was quite simple yet I didn't figure it out. You saved my week!!

(Actually, you can't really transfer the file so as to open it with pages on the Mac, but still, it's better than nothing)
