Q: why is my internal camera not on

when I click on my iphoto, my internal camera doe not show. I get a box with a camera and a cross through slash. it was working before

iPhoto '08, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
