I moved Microsoft Word to the desktop but it disappeared. Where did it go?

I just installed microsoft office on my macbook pro. Workd, powerpoint, excel, and outlock are on the dock and I wanted to move them to the desktop. I moved Microsoft word and this cloud shaped thing appeard near the "W" and it disappeared. I tried finding it but idk where it went. Help please? I'm new to this. Thanks

When you did that you deleted the dock’s alias to Word. It is easy to get it back. Open Applications > Microsoft Office 2011. Drag the Microsoft Word icon to your dock. That will restore the alias.


If you want a Microsoft Word alias on your desktop then right click on the Word icon and pull down to Make Alias. Then drag that alias to your desktop.
