QuickTime update to 7.62 or later

How can I update? The apple website says that it is part of Mavericks but my QuickTime player About screen indicates Version 10.3. Help!

I did this and it installed in the Applications/Utilities folder. However, the default player is still QT 10.3. I am concerned because Adobe After Effects does not recognize that QT is installed.

You'll have to change the default player via the Get Info on a video file. Inatallation details are at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3678
