HELP PLEASE!! LOCKED DOWN IPOD TOUCH

My daughter has locked down her IPod touch Gen 4. I have tried to restore but when I shut it down (as instructed in troubleshooting section) then hold the "WAKE" button...the red slide bar that is Supposed to appear does NOT (only and Apple icon shows) What else can I do to restore factory settings???

Thanks for the question. Let’s reset your iPod touch:


Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

Reset

You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can’t restart it.


To reset, press and hold both the Sleep.Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo

After resetting the iPod, attempt to turn it off to follow the steps in this article:


iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
