Dec 31, 2013 1:22 AM in response to AvaBoltby camildix000,Plug it into a PC or Mac (if you don't have a Mac then download iTunes on the PC) and connect it to iTunes. Then when you're on iPod summary, restore it! If it won't let you restore due to the passcode, hold down the home and lock button down together for 10 seconds and then let go of the lock button but hold the home button for another 8. That will put the iPod in recovery mode, and you will be able to restore it. Keep in mind that all data will be lost. That is why backing your iPod up to iTunes is important:)

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
