Hi guys just wondering how to selectivly import part of a clip in the import window, cant do it since 10.6 ver??. im now using 10.8

Usually you play the clip then hit the i key for an in point and the o key for an out point.

yea..but not in Ver 10.8???....i got a 2gig clip but only want a couple of sec from it

The latest is 10.1.0
Maybe trash the FCP X preferences if it's acting wierd.

sorry 10.0.8...might download the lastest ver before i start this large project
If you jump to 10.1 you will be wise to understand the use of the NEW Libraries and how they update.
Things have changed.

In 10.0.9, and I believe in 10.0.8 as well, the only way I know of is if you've saved the clip to a camera archive. If you've already moved it from your camera to your HD you'll have to import the whole clip and then edit the bit you want. I've been stuck on this same problem before.
I've just finished a Project with 10.1 and found the in/out points work fine in the Import window.
