Why can I not connect to the internet on Windows while running Boot Camp?

I installed Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro, mostly with the intention of running Windows compatible programs that OSX cannot. However, I can't download them because on Windows senses no network connection. Everything runs very well on the OSX side, and I have not had difficulty connecting to the network before, even on previous Windows computers. What can I do to solve this? Any information is helpful.
