Q: session could not be started when backup to iTunes
I have the error where an error "session could not be started" when backup my iPhone 5s, and have been searching high and low here, finally I solved it, just to share with you guys here.
iTunes : latest version 11.1.3.8
Syndrome :
I can sync, can transfer purchases, can sync over WIFI
tried other other solution but just don't work
When click on the backup, the an error session could not be started poppep up, the little circle in the iphone never shows.
It sounds like the phone cannot enter into the backup session. After many attempts when solution provided in this board,
i figured it out, it was down to the lockdown issue. But I tried reset the lockdown like here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5335
But after deleted the lockdown folder and when I plug in the phone, an error yield. Luckily I backup the lockdown folder.
This time, I only delete the file in the lockdown folder which associate to my iphone. U can move all the plist out here C:\ProgramData\Apple\Lockdown
but leave the SystemConfiguration.plist, close itunes and disconnect iphone when you doing it.
Then starts iTunes, and connect iPhone. Click the trust button in the iphone and it will work again.
Copy back all the plist to the lockdown folder (if you have other devices), don't overwrite the one just created by the iphone.
Hope this will help those who have the same syndrome.
iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4
