Having just had to reinstall my hard rive to my mac book pro OS 10.8, i cannot get it to print on my Canon MP390. It just says I need to download software, but canon says no software is required. It worked perfectly well before but now there is a problem...?

Your printer is no longer supported by Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#canon-inkjet.

However, there may be a Canon driver that would work. Contact Canon tech support.

I can't understand how it worked fine with OS10.8 until I had to reinstall the hard drive with same OS and now it does not!?

I've no idea - but DO get in touch with Canon support (or even check out their website for a newer driver).

I've always found Canon's support to be top-notch.
