USB GPS tracker device (i-gotU GT-120) isn't mounting as (incorrectly?) expected

I knew, when I bought it, i-gotU's software was not for the Mac. But I was under the impression it physically works with a Mac. I plug it in, lights appear on the device, presumably its charging, but nothing appears on the desktop. I was expecting it to interface with my Mac similar to how cameras do. Appear basically like an external drive, which you can then copy files off, in this case, the data files the tracker device has saved/created. But it isn't mounting. Should it mount? If so why isn't it? If it isn't supposed to mount like I'm expecting, how to access it?

Just to add: the device is appearing fine in the System Information application, listed in the USB section.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

The device and software are PC only.

Return it quickly.

Thanks for the reply but you're very wrong. The device is not PC only. You're right about the supplied with it software. Wrong about the device.

I've got it working fine now thanks to this: https://launchpad.net/igotu2gpx

It doesn't appear on the desktop like a camera does. You need software to extract the GPS data.

The only problem is that software doesn't allow me to change the device's settings. The key one being the frequency it logs. That, it appears, I do need a PC for. Although there was talk on the above linked to site about the igotu2gpx software being able to do that, nearly done and ready for release, but that was 4 or 5 years ago, so not looking hopeful.

myTracks ( http://download.cnet.com/myTracks/3000-20422_4-189959.html?tag=mncol;1 ) also happily recognises and deals with a number of i-gotU devices included the one I have.

Still not found a way to change the device's settings though.
