I am getting an Ipad 4 and i do not want it to load things i had on my ipod which has been gone for a couple years now. is the a way to prevent it

ok i am required to buy an Ipad 4 for school and they have new ones i can purchase throught them, I used to have an Ipod but i got rid of it in favor of an android device and now since I have to go back to an apple device but i do not want everything from my ipod to be installed on my new ipad on thursday. Is there a way to prevent this or am I just gonna have to deal with it.

I don't follow. Why do you think you have to "prevent" anything? You don't have to load anything onto the iPad you don't want to other than, of course, what comes bundled on it. Can you explain why you seem to think otherwise?

Did you sysc youriPod to your computer. If not, you have nothing to worry about. If you did sync it, you don't have to transfer the files from the iPod. Suggest you read the iPad manual.
