is there a way to only have certain emails show up on all devices?
is there a way to only have certain emails show up on all devices? I only want important emails to show up on my ipad; others can wait until i get to my desktop.

No. About all you could do is set up email rules on icoud.com to move email from certain senders, with certain subjects, etc. to a specific folder (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a), then just check the email in that folder on your iPad. You would also add specific contacts to your Mail VIP list, then only check your VIP mailbox on your iPad.
