New Bluetooth keyboard, certain key combos do not work

I just got a bluetooth keyboard, thnuderbolt DVI video adapter, and an LCD monitor for my Macbook Pro (2011). I am using it with the cover closed, and generally it works well.

However, certain keyboard shortcuts fail to register, so far:

-- Shift-Command-Option-S in Photoshop Cs6 and Acorn is "save for web" in both apps, yet nothing happens.

-- command-delete in Finder, which should send the selected files to the trash, the system beeps.

These key combos all work fine with the built-in keyboard.
