Here is what I am attempting to do. I need to do some clean up work within genres. i.e. some albums are listed in the incorrect genre. In older versions of itunes this was easily done by selectiing a genre, and noting which albums within it were incorrect. One could then select say all of the heavy metal albums that were sorted in indie. hit alt a, alt i and type in heavy metal. Done, quick and easy. It appears I can no longer select albums from the genre listing. Anyone know a way around this?

You can select all the songs on the albums in Genre view.

Anyone know a way around this?

View Songs.

iTunes menu View > Column Browser - Show column browser.

Then again iTunes menu View > Column Browser and tick Albums, Artist, Genre.

Now you can select a Genre in the first column at top.

All Artists and Albums in that Genre will show up in the next two columns.

You can hold Command click to select multiple items.

Then Command I (get info) and change the genre to what you want.
