FaceTime on MacBook Pro

I am trying to us FaceTime on my MacBook Pro but it does not allow me to continue and activate my email. I found another FaceTime app on the store. Do I have to buy the app? Why can't I use the FaceTime app that is already preset on my MacBook Pro?
