My son has a Powerbook G4 , 10.5.8 OSX and a Itouch 5. what are my options as far as Itunes and his ability to purchase music and sync his music library with his Itouch5?

I'm sorry, but you cannot sync a 5th generation iPod touch with such an old iTunes version (10.6.3). Also, your Mac does not support any higher iTunes version, so if your son wants to sync his iPod touch with his computer, he needs a new Mac or PC with iTunes 11
1. Download the iTunes Store purchases directly onto the device instead of syncing them from the iTunes library, and if the library contains music from other sources, sign up for iTunes Match.
