printer connection to wifi

I have an HP Laserjet 100 MFP 175w and it has been on my home wifi for 18 months without a problem. Currently I cannot connect to the printer and even when I have it plugged directly into my MacBook Pro it does not recognize the device. I have reinstalled the driver, put the printer on Airport Express and reset the printer settings so that the eprint services can be utilized without success. The printer has gotten less reliable during the past year and now it is unfunctional. Can someone recommend a solution or a good wifi enabled printer that is solid and reliable. At this point the HP printer is nothing better than a bad doorstop.
