Malaysia iTunes Store - Redeem Card

Hi all - I understand there isnt a country specific iTunes gift card for Malaysia iTunes store purchase. However I notice there is a redeem option in Account page. Can I actually use a US iTunes store gift card since the prices in Malaysia store is in USD$. The redeem option must be there for a reason?...😕

All iTunes gift cards are country specific, a US gift card can only be redeemed and used in the US on a US iTunes account.

Though gift cards might not be available in Malaysia, other Malyasian iTunes account holders can send you gifts, which are redeemed in a similar way
