I cannot get past step 6 for Ethernet migrations.

When I click continue after confirming the security codes match, my target computer returns to the login screen and the source computer displays the message "this mac is trying to reconnect to your other mac. Ensure both computers are on and connected to the same network." How do I proceed to the next step
