it's common that takes 120 hours to transfer a 120GB data?

I've just bought a brand new Macbook Pro and I'm trying to migrate data from my old Vaio. In the startup menu I've choosen the option to migrate data, connect a cable between both computers and follow the instructions given


But...this was 2 days ago, and there is a window in the screen that says that are still 80 hours needed to complete the process.


Is it normal, or not?


Can I stop the process and try a manual transfer through an external HD?


How can I stop the process? disconnecting the cable?
