Given the user is running Logic Pro X.. It would be better to post a link to the Logic Pro X troubleshooting tips page instead of the older Logic Pro 8/9 one ....

To check, go to your applications folder, right click on the Logic Pro app and select Get Info from the drop down menu that appears..
Now check the version number...
