Hi there,
today i found out all my .mov files, imported from sxs via xdcam transfer only display audio. Video is gone.
I have no idea what happened.
I do not see video in preview (quicktime), and if I import them to FCP... all is green.
They do work in VLC.

If so - Exported as AIC or Apple ProRes 422 - How does this play ?

I do not have quick time pro.
i didnt mind them not working in quick time. but i do mind they do not display in FCP. even, if FCP chooses the seq. setting itself.
If You open one in VLC
then press cmd-key + I-key

and i must say it all worked fine till recently. i was able to watch files as preview in quicktime and also edit them in fcp.
some time ago i delited some temp files from library... maybe that is my problem. but i doubt.
but still, my background picture has changed from yesterday to today. i have no idea if that is related...
Are you using Final Cut Pro 7 or Final Cut Pro X?

did you do any software updates recently? There have been many reports of problems with a recent software update. Do some searching here for some possible solutions. You should never do any software updates unless you have a bootable clone of your startup drive so you can restore your system to it's working state if things go south.

You might also try resetting your fcp preferences.

Having the same issue currently - can you share what you did to resolve?
The lawd helps those that help themselves. Just do some searching here or just page thru the last months posts (things have gotten really quiet around here so it shouldn't be that difficult).
I installed some update by accident and with it came some new codec. I went to apple retailer who managed it in 1 min. By installing the old codec and deltinig the new one.
