my ipad screen went blank while charging. what can I do?

this just happened to me this morning and after researching, trying to reboot, etc., I read on one of the forums to 'whack' it on the back. Everyone was chiming it that 'it worked'. I was VERY skeptical. Lightly whacked it, nothing. Then after reading more and how other posters could not believe this worked I rapped it hard(er) on the back with my knuckles and IT POPPED BACK ON! So if you've tried all of the rebooting (reset and home key) and that hasn't worked, knocked it on the back! Poster said 3 times but it only took once for me. Happy Happy! :-D

Ok. thought this was a joke but when my daughters iPad went blank I tried the hard reset and nothing. So I reluctantly gave it a tap on the back and still nothing. I tapped it a bit harder and the screen appeared. Go figure, the old T.V. repairman slap worked. LOL

Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.

Then test to see if it solved the problem.

Make sure to not do this often.
