Q: How can I get facetime on mini ipad 2 purchased from UAE and activated In Egypt ?

FaceTime is not  available on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This is by government decree. The FaceTime app can't be downloaded or installed on these iPads.

Just go to settings - general - language and region and then change your location to Egypt and reboot your idevice.

Yes, it worked on 3 of my idevices. My wife's  ipad 4 and mine ipad air 2 and iphone all of these devices are purchased in KSA without a FT. Hope it helps.

What is the model number of your iPad, which can be found

at Settings=>General=>About=>Model? You may have to scroll

to see the entry for Model.

I don't  wanna share my model number, sorry. but the trick worked for me. just change your location to egypt and then reboot your idevice and wait for 5 mins. Let me know if it worked for you.

What are the letters at the end of the model number? Or do you have a

gray market iPad meant for sale in other than the Middle East? Such items will

act differently than iPads intended for the Middle East.

Presumably it has AB at the end somewhere?  That is the code shared by Egypt, UAE, and KSA.

It's not a question of trying it ourselves, but knowing what advice to give people.  The standard advice is that it is not possible.  But perhaps you have found a fix (IF your device has an AB model number).

I brought all the devices within 3 years of time from a reputed electronic stores at different locations and cities. So it can't be a coincidence. These devices were definitely made for KSA market.

I was wrong about the codes, ae/a is normal the for Apple Store in the UAE.
