I have Ipad modal A1337 why wont it update to IOS 7

Why cant I update it To IOS 7 I have Ipad A1337 and Its shows I can but says when i try its latest version why

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

Because that is a 1st generation iPad, which can not be upgraded beyond 5.1.1.
