i downloaded some songs/tv shows from itunes and i don't want them on my device. when i go to delete the items, the icloud download logo appears and items are still there. how can i remove them completely?

Go to itunes and log in into ur account you can delete it from there then connect your iphone and syncing with itunes check if those songs and movies are still there, Note. if you purchase those songs from itunes you can choice not sync them in ur device.

The music/videos aren't actually there on your phone, they are links to redownload them if ever you want to.
If you don't want them there, go settings > music/video > show all music/video > off.
Is there a way to permanently remove them? IE not on iCloud or associated with an Apple ID?
They can be hidden via iTunes on a computer, but no, never entirely deleted.
