Can anyone tell me WHtY text messages are being saved in General>Usage>Messages?? I would love to delete everything, but I'm not given any type of option to delete this from storage? Very curious is this is NSA-linked stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok so i am not sure if this is a permanent solution or not, but i found an app called PhoneClean... you can find a product key for free on youtube... it cleaned up 8gb on my phone i had 9 taken up by bs.... please let me know if this works for anyone else!!!!!

try to just change your phone saving messages forever to just 30 days... that released almost 1.1 gigs of memory from my saved messages. I know this is an old thread but who knows who might be searching this
Messages + podcasts have crippled my storage in the past. Last time I cleared my podcasts out it was like 2.1gb for the last months worth - hardly sustainable. Not sure about the NSA stuff, it's a possibility I suppose but one that's hardly worth worrying about.
