Advanced DHCP option 61

Hi all,

Ive just switched to sky broadband and it would seem my current set up wont work.

Ive got a DreyTek Vigor 120 connected to my Apple Airport Extreme.

The internet doesnt work.

Ive spoke to sky, they say they only support their modem and not others and i need to contact DreyTek.

DreyTek have said the problem isnt with the modem but the router.

Ive been advised i need to set up Advanced DHCP option 61 for the sky connection to work.

Can this be done, and if so how?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Not sure what you are referring to here, but there are no settings or options like this in AirPort Utility, the software application that is used to configure the AirPort routers.

If you are referring to settings on a Sky device, then you would want to post on a Sky support forum.

If Advanced DHCP option 61 is setting that needs to be enabled on the DrayTek Vigor 120 modem, then you would want to check with Draytek support in that regard.

Since Sky is telling you that they do not support the Draytek Vigor modem, you may need to use a Sky modem for your Internet connection to function correctly.

The DrayTek support team said its a setting that needs to be done on the router, in my case the AirPort Extreme

As we noted previously, unfortunately there are no settings or options for anything like this in AirPort Utility, the software application that is used to configure the AirPort routers.

The Draytek support person may have been thinking about another router from another manufacturer.
