I have had an issue for several months now, which iTunes has been crashing instantly when I try to play certain songs. Today, after looking for ideas to fix it, I was able to pinpoint that the problem is with certain artists. The first one I know for sure in my iTunes Library is "Eminem", if I try to play ANY song with Eminem as the artist, iTunes will crash within one second every single time. However, if I changed the artist name to "Eminem1", the song will play perfectly fine. Changing the artist back to "Eminem" will lead back to the same crashes as before.

I have had this problem for several months, I'm not sure which version of iTunes it started on, but today I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with the current version with no luck.

Any ideas?

I'm a little late to the party but hopefully someone who finds this in the future can use the help. I was having this problem for months and hating itunes. Then discovered it was the result of date plugins. Check this link, it will tell you exactly what to do.

If safe mode allows you to paly the songs then go here:

Once you remove the rouble plugin you'll be happy again.

Good luck!

Have been having the same problem for awhile now as well.  Very frustrating, wish a solution would be presented.  Edit: Oh, you referenced me, seems strange that'd we'd be the only one's having this problem.

Yeah, I did as much research as I could before hand, sorry to see that you're still having this problem seven months later. At least one other person has had this problem, but unfortunately his fix didn't work for me.

At this point, I simply don't use iTunes. If I want to listen to music while at my desk, I use my iPhone and Bluetooth speaker, don't use the computers speaker system. Quite a disappointing workaround.

Better late than never! I had iConcertCal installed, I removed it, and now I have no issues whatsoever! Thanks a lot!
