Can't get my ipod to play video on my tv, even after buying the apple AV cable

Everything that I've read says that I have to put my ipod in "tv output" - but I can't find that option anywhere in my settings.

What adopter/connection to TV?

What app are you using?

There are no TV out setting on the iPod.

Only the 5G iPod will mirror the iPod's screen. Otherwise, TV video out ony works for apps that support TV out

5th generation iPod touch with iOS 7

Using the composite AV cable.

Was just trying to play the video...no idea what app I should be using.

But the HDMI AV adapter is now broken with iOS 7. So it doesn't work either.
