Phone keeps flicking to SOS only.

I have an IPhone 5. Every few hours (3-10) if looses connection to my carrier Optus and goes to SOS only. I am not in areas where there is not reception either. I have to restart it to get reception again??? I did the latest update as I thought this matrix the problem, it did not. Help me.
