Ipod 6th Generation won’t sync with Itunes but is being recognised as a device on windows

Recently had to get my laptop set back to factory reset. I have reinstalled Itunes and uploaded my music back on Itunes but my Ipod wont sync. The Ipod itself is saying that it’s connected and my laptop is recognising it as a device and saying that it is working correctly. I’ve reset the Ipod and had a look at the firewall on my computer (Windows and the free Avast software) but everything seems to be working correctly. Anyone have any ideas?
