Timeline not showing on screen, canvas, browser super-sized. I'm using a Sony HD TV as my monitor. When opening FCP (v. 7.0.3) the browser, viewer and canvas take up the entire screen. Timeline is inaccessible, invisible. Opens fine on MacBook Pro.

Greets all. When opening FCP v. 7.0.3, using a Sony HD TV as my monitor, the browser, viewer and canvas are super-sized, taking up the entire screen. Timeline is invisible, inaccessible. I've been able to shrink the size of viewer and canvas, however, canvas does not move when I click on it (covers the viewer now). Cannot access bottom right corner under browser. Everything opens up fine on my MacBook Pro, however. Any trick to getting things to look normal on a Sony TV?

Perhaps relatedly, I have another Sony HD TV as my second monitor when working with video. When turning it on, however, it defaults to being the "main monitor". And the main monitor's tool bar, etc. switch over to it, though my mouse does not. Any suggestions how I can program things so the second monitor is only a window for what I'm working on? System Preferences offers limited to no options in these respects.

Many thanks.

when you open system preferences" displays and click on the "arrangement" panel, you'll see your two monitors indicated. The one with the menu bar is the "main monitor" You can drag this bar to the other monitor os it will be the main monitor. You can also adjust what areas of the two monitors are touching and this is the area that allows you to drag the mouse from one monitor to the other.

in FCP, you can also try adjusting the window arrangement.User uploaded file
