Jan 2, 2014 9:18 AM in response to screeminjesusby turingtest2,Ideally you would have backed up your iTunes library from your old PC so that you could have migrated the iTunes library into the new one. Then iTunes would have behaved as if nothing had changed. Alternatively if you had stopped when warned that content would be removed and replaced it would have been possible to use the techniques in Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device to assoicate the device with the new library, although if you manually manage the content then you might still have had to make new selections. There is no way to recover the list of what was & wasn't copied to the device from the device itself, but if that information still exists in playlists on your old computer it might be possible.

Jan 2, 2014 9:56 AM in response to turingtest2by screeminjesus,Thanks for your prompt response.
This is what I don't understand. I backed up my library, migrated it to my new pc. When I plugged my phone in it asked me if I trusted the new pc which I ok'd. I never recieved any warning that anything was going to be replaced or deleted. Once the sync had finished all my music was gone. Very frustrating. Now I'm scared to plug my wifes in incase it does the same thing.
Cest la vie.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Disable automatic syncing and backup the device on the new machine before you take any other steps.

Jan 2, 2014 11:12 AM in response to turingtest2by screeminjesus,To be honest I really can't remember the whole process. It seems like I've had to fight windows 8 every step of the way to get my old stuff installed. e-mails, google toolbar, itunes, contacts, the whole lot. Just because they aren't windows products.
Thanks tt2.
