IPOD SHUFFLE WONT TURN ON OR CHARGE SEEMED LOCKED?

My ipod shuffle was lowbat when I picked it up, I hold on to the stop/play button hoping to revive its life,sadly it was really a dead battery. When I got home and went to charged it up, when it is in OFF position...after a few second of being pluged in the charger a the light turns red for a bit and then vanish, then it wont charge or wont turn on either. I think it's locked, i tried the reset thing the turn off then turn on after 10sec. thing but it didnt worked
