Unresponsive screen

Hi, there is a strip on my phones screen that is unresponsive to touch, whereas everything else on my phone is working fine, I can type my pass code in however I cannot touch 'done' to unlock because it is in the strip that does not respond, I have googled this and came up with cases referring it to a 'dead spot' how do I fix this? Do I need to replace my phones screen? Or is it more than that

I cannot restore because I can't connect to iTunes without my phone unlocked, please help
