If you have a credit card, use it, and there will be a form you must filled if sent address is differ than the billing address.

I know it work within us region and credit card issued by us financial firm. Just call apple store annd double check with them.

Also check your local apple distributor in Columbia, they might have the model you want and cheaper compare to the us macbook price plus shipping cost from miami to columbia.

Also the distributor in Columbia might honor the warranty better rather than the one bought not from them.

So the option left was to buy it yourself, ship it to Miami, and let somebody bring that to you.

And the next time you having problem (I hope not), you must asked someone to bring that back to miami and contact the nearest apple store or service center there.

Too bad for that situation, but I suggest go for it, and have a MacBook for yourself in Columbia.

Not necessarily. If he buys the applecare, it is supposed to have worldwide support. If there is an authorized service center in Columbia, or a nearby country, he could get it serviced there.

how's your macbook? i'm in the philippines right now, my mom bought the macbook in texas last month, then i waited for my auntie to come home for a vacation here - in that way we avoided the taxes (i'm sorry im not a good citizen) and my auntie handcarried it (though i got a lot of complaints from my auntie coz she was so stressed in the airport) 🙂

Hold off until the logic board thing shakes out. I would hate to have to try and ship it from Colombia when it starts dying.
